Bands Bio:

The band was founded by Anatoly Zhuravlev in the beginning of 2003 in Moscow, Russia. Their first concert was at the local MTV studio, where ANJ were invited as pop-musicians, but two minutes into their set the place was blasted apart with heavy hard rock riffs. The band, whose ballad "The First Night" became very popular, showed its real face - the face of true hard music without any compromises.

By June 2003, the band recorded its first demo consisting of five songs, with "Street Fight,” and “Set On Fire,” among them. Immediately after the recording, ANJ was invited to have a gig at bikers’ fest in Saint-Petersburg. The response was very positive and Surgeon, the President of Night Wolves MC, personally greeted the band. Since then ANJ has been a frequent guest at various metal concerts and bike shows – Krasnogorsk Open Air, Friday 13th fest, Hail To Russia fest, Victory Fest.

Towards the end of 2004 the band announced their first album, "Under An Intent Target". Henry Lee Rock from Spiha (Finland) and Lotta Hoglin from Beseech (Sweden) were invited as special guests to take part in the studio session. Their vocals are in the English version of "Devil's Vengeance." The disc was mastered at Finnvox Studios by Minerva Pappi.

In 2005 ANJ started "New Hard Music Tour" - the conceptual travel all over Russia and European festivals to show the power of modern Russian heavy music to metalheads all over the world. It started on March 12th at MetalMania 2005 fest in Katowice, Poland, where over 5,000 people watched an exclusive pyroshow by ANJ at Spodek Stadium. This gig was recorded for an upcoming DVD that was released at the beginning of 2006. Nearly 30,000 people visited ANJ gigs in Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Volgograd, Kursk, Voronezh, Belgorod, Ryazan, Yaroslavl and Kirov. For about eight months, the band strenuously worked on the stage as well as during frequent rehearsals, preparing for the planned recording of a full-length second album “100 Miles Straight Ahead”. The tour ended on the 12th of November at a famous Moscow-based rock-fest “The Soul Ecology” at Luzhniki Arena.

At the end of November 2005 the band recorded a fantastic duet with the golden voice of German heavy metal – Udo Dirkschneider (Accept, U.D.O.) The track “Pugachev” received an extremely positive response both from fans and the press.

At Christmas time, ANJ presented their new video, “One,” directed by Patric Ullaeus (Dimmu Borgir, In Flames, Children of Bodom).

ANJ represented Russia at the Finnish Metal Expo 2006 in Helsinki.

The band entered the studio at the beginning of April 2006 to record a new album “100 Miles Straight Ahead”. The mixing was done by Roberto Moratti at Classical Sounds Records (Milan, Italy). The album was mastered by Minerva Pappi at Finnvox Studios (Helsinki, Finland).

100 Miles Straight Ahead was released September 12th 2006 through CD Land, Russia.

September 23rd 2006, the band presented their second album at one of the biggest Moscow-based clubs – Tochka.

More recently, the band entered Hatch Farm Studios (Surrey, UK) to record the English version of their latest album, 100 Miles Straight Ahead. The vocals were produced by Kevin Moloney (UB40, Sinead O’Connor, U2) and engineered by Ben Darlow (Alice Cooper, The Who). Natalie “Rag Doll” Dybaylo (Rosenfield Records) and Brian Adams (Arena Music Ltd.) are album’s executive producers. The English version entitled ‘With Honor To Live’ is the albums titles.
